MURRAY, Ky.
— In an exciting showdown on Saturday night, Drew Scharnowski made a significant impact off the bench as he scored 20 points, propelling Belmont to a commanding 95-77 win over Murray State.

Scharnowski’s performance was crucial for the Bruins (15-6, 7-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference), and he also grabbed eight rebounds during the game. Carter Whitt contributed notably as well, with a total of 17 points while shooting 5 of 15 from the field, including 1 of 3 on three-pointers. He was perfect from the free-throw line, going 6 for 6, and he also added six assists alongside three steals. Sam Orme assisted the team by scoring 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting and hitting 1 of 3 from beyond the arc.

For the Racers (11-10, 5-5), Jacobi Wood was the standout player, finishing the contest with 19 points and dishing out six assists. Additionally, Terence Harcum provided valuable support with 14 points and four assists, while Nick Ellington added 13 points, collected seven rebounds, and blocked three shots.

Both teams are set to return to the court on Wednesday, with Belmont traveling to face Illinois State, and Murray State heading out to play against Evansville.
