On Saturday night, Alabama State claimed a close victory over Prairie View A&M with a final score of 66-63, thanks in part to the impressive performance of Antonio Madlock, who scored 14 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. The Hornets improved their record to 8-11 overall and 4-2 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference with this win.
In addition to Madlock’s contributions, Amarr Knox matched him with 14 points, displaying an effective shooting performance of 6-for-12 from the field and hitting 1-for-4 from three-point territory. CJ Hines also made a notable impact; despite struggling with his shooting, going 3-for-14 overall and 1-for-5 from beyond the arc, he managed to add 13 points by excelling at the free-throw line, where he converted 6 of 7 attempts.
On the other side of the court, Prairie View A&M (4-16, 3-4) had standout performances as well, with Braelon Bush leading the scoring effort with an impressive 25 points and contributing two steals. Marcel Bryant also played a significant role, tallying 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Jordan Tillmon showed strong support, finishing the game with 13 points and matching Bryant’s rebound total at nine.
