OMAHA, Neb. — In a strong performance, Ryan Kalkbrenner led Creighton to a decisive 79-54 victory over Seton Hall on Saturday, contributing 23 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. The Bluejays improved their record to 14-6 and 7-2 in the Big East Conference. Steven Ashworth also played a significant role, scoring 17 points and dishing out nine assists, showcasing his shooting skills by connecting on five of his eight attempts from beyond the arc. Isaac Traudt was efficient, going perfect on four shots for a total of 10 points.

Seton Hall, currently at 6-14 with a record of 1-8 in the conference, had Prince Aligbe as its standout performer with 12 points. Garwey Dual contributed with a balanced effort, posting 10 points, five assists, and three steals, while Emmanuel Okorafor added eight points to the score sheet.

Creighton seized control of the game with just over two minutes remaining in the first half and maintained their lead throughout, finishing the first half with a score of 38-34, courtesy of Ashworth’s impressive 14-point effort in that period. In the second half, Creighton capitalized on a 9-0 scoring run, stretching their lead to 47-34. Kalkbrenner continued his strong play, scoring 10 points after the break to help securely close out the game.

Looking ahead, Creighton will host Xavier on Wednesday, while Seton Hall prepares for a showdown against Providence on Tuesday.
