ALBANY, N.Y. — Siena secured a convincing victory over Mount St. Mary’s with a final score of 82-68, fueled by an impressive performance from Brendan Coyle, who scored 26 points.
Coyle demonstrated remarkable shooting accuracy, going 8 for 10 from the floor and hitting 7 of his 9 attempts from beyond the arc, while also sinking 3 of 4 free throws. The Saints, who are now 9-10 overall and hold a 4-4 record in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, saw Justice Shoats contribute significantly with 18 points, converting 8 of 12 field goal attempts and adding 6 assists. Major Freeman also played a key role in the team’s offense, tallying 17 points with 7 of 16 shooting from the field, including 3 for 9 from three-point range.
On the other side, the Mountaineers, boasting an 11-8 record and 4-4 in conference play, were led by Dola Adebayo, who scored 21 points in the matchup. Jedy Cordilia also contributed with 16 points, while Dallas Hobbs added 14 points to the team’s efforts.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to play again on Saturday. Siena will travel to Iona, while Mount St. Mary’s will host Manhattan.
