Weston nets 20 points as Tennessee State edges UT Martin 81-80 in overtime

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — In an exciting matchup, Tennessee State emerged victorious over UT Martin, clinching an 81-80 win in overtime on Tuesday evening.

Brandon Weston was a standout performer for the Tigers, contributing significantly with 20 points, along with five rebounds and four steals, leading his team to improve their record to 8-12 overall and 4-5 in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Knute Wood also played a key role, putting in a solid performance with 15 points. He showcased his shooting skill by making four of eight attempts from three-point range and converting three out of four free-throw opportunities. In addition, Wood contributed with three steals to bolster the Tigers’ defense. Ron Jessamy added to the team’s success by scoring 11 points, having an efficient night with a perfect shooting record from the field and hitting five out of seven from the charity stripe.

On the opposing side, Vladimer Salaridze led the Skyhawks with an impressive double-double, recording 18 points and 14 rebounds while also securing three steals.
