FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — In a dominant performance, Zaay Green led the way with 21 points, while Karly Weathers contributed significantly by sinking 5 of 6 from beyond the arc, finishing the night with 19 points. The No. 19 Alabama team triumphed over Arkansas, recording a decisive 94-62 victory on Sunday evening.

Green showcased her versatility by making 8 of 13 shots from the field, alongside nine rebounds and seven assists. Weathers was equally impressive, hitting 7 of 10 attempts and dishing out six assists to further bolster Alabama’s offense.

The game began with Green and Weathers each netting 3-pointers, quickly putting Alabama ahead 8-5 just a few minutes into the action. Alabama (17-3, 4-2 SEC) maintained their lead throughout the match. As the first quarter came to a close, Green delivered a 3-pointer at the buzzer, rounding out the score at 24-16.

The second quarter saw Arkansas attempting to close the gap, with a layup from Vera Ojenuwa and a 3-pointer from Kiki Smith narrowing the difference to three points. However, Alabama responded with an impressive 16-2 run, fueled by Weathers’ eight points—including two 3-pointers—and six points from JeAnna Cunningham. This offensive surge resulted in a commanding 40-23 lead, capped by Aaliyah Nye’s layup with 4:29 remaining in the first half.

In the third quarter, Alabama’s dominance continued as Essence Cody scored all of her 13 points, contributing to a staggering 31-14 scoring advantage over the Razorbacks.

On the other side, Arkansas (8-12, 1-4) found some bright spots, with Kiki Smith achieving a career-high 23 points. Ojenuwa supported with 12 points, and Phoenix Stotjin added 11. Izzy Higginbottom, who had entered the game with an impressive average of 24.4 points per game (ranking fourth nationally) and an exceptional free-throw success rate, managed only five points this game, shooting 2 of 11.

Looking ahead, Arkansas will embark on a road trip to face Vanderbilt on Thursday, while Alabama will also take on the Commodores, hosting their matchup next Sunday.
