HANOVER, N.H. — Xaivian Lee propelled Princeton to a thrilling 81-80 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday, delivering a decisive 3-pointer from the top of the key with just 5.6 seconds to go.
As the game wound down, Cade Haskins’ trey put Dartmouth ahead 80-78 with 21 seconds left, but Lee’s clutch shot secured the win for the Tigers. In a critical moment, Dartmouth missed out on a chance to respond, turning the ball over in their final possession.
Lee’s outstanding performance not only featured his game-winning shot but also included eight rebounds for the Tigers, who improved their record to 13-4 overall and 2-0 in Ivy League play. Caden Pierce contributed significantly with 19 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, and three steals, while Dalen Davis added 11 points to solidify the team’s sixth consecutive victory.
On the other side, Ryan Cornish stood out for the Big Green, scoring 20 points and making three steals. Brandon Mitchell-Day played a key role as well, contributing 16 points along with nine rebounds, while Haskins rounded out the scoring with 12 points. The loss left Dartmouth with a record of 7-8 and 1-1 in the Ivy League.
