WEST POINT, N.Y. — In a closely contested game on Saturday, Jalen Rucker led the Army Black Knights to a 68-62 win over Boston University, scoring a total of 23 points.
Rucker displayed impressive shooting efficiency, going 8 for 12 overall and sinking 4 of 7 from beyond the arc, along with hitting 3 out of 4 free throws. His performance was crucial for Army, which improved to a record of 10-8, with a 4-2 standing in the Patriot League.
Josh Scovens contributed significantly as well, adding 15 points to the team’s total. Although he struggled with his shooting, finishing 4 of 12 on field goals and failing to score any three-pointers (0 for 5), he managed to convert 7 of his 11 attempts from the free-throw line.
On the opposing side, Boston University was led by Ben Roy, who scored 17 points and made three steals during the game. Kyrone Alexander and Azmar Abdullah also chipped in, each finishing with nine points.
Army established a strong lead going into halftime, holding a commanding 41-20 advantage. Rucker was instrumental in this first-half dominance, contributing 12 points. However, Boston University rallied in the second half, outscoring Army by 15 points, but the Black Knights managed to maintain their lead. Rucker continued to shine, scoring 11 points in the second half to help secure the victory for Army.
