Former Manchester United forward and coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has entered discussions with Besiktas, a prominent Turkish football club, as announced on Friday.
Solskjaer has not taken on a coaching role since being dismissed by Manchester United in 2021.
The Besiktas official website featured a photograph of Solskjaer engaging with club officials, accompanied by a statement indicating that negotiations are underway for him to assume the position of head coach.
He would be succeeding Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who departed from the club after being relieved of his duties at the end of November.
Solskjaer, who is currently 51 years old, enjoyed a successful playing career at Manchester United, where he secured six Premier League titles.
In addition to his tenure at United, he had a brief stint managing Cardiff City in 2014 and has held the managerial position at Norwegian side Molde on two separate occasions.
