ASHEVILLE, N.C. — In a thrilling match on Wednesday night, UNC Asheville emerged victorious against South Carolina Upstate, clinching a narrow 93-92 win. The standout performance came from Josh Banks, who scored 22 points, propelling his team to success.
The game saw an intense finish, particularly when Karmani Gregory of South Carolina Upstate made a jumper, leveling the score at 92 with just nine seconds left on the clock. However, it was Jordan Marsh from UNC Asheville who sealed the victory for his squad, converting a critical free throw.
In addition to Banks’ impressive scoring, he also registered five rebounds, contributing significantly to the Bulldogs’ effort. Marsh finished the night with 21 points and dished out five assists, showcasing his integral role in the team’s dynamics. Toyaz Solomon was another key player for UNC Asheville, hitting 8 of 13 shooting from the field and going 2 for 4 at the free-throw line to finish with 18 points, along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
