CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Isaac Williams played a pivotal role as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi triumphed over UT Rio Grande Valley with a score of 79-74.
Williams showcased his skills by scoring 18 points, converting 8 of his 13 attempts from the field and hitting 2 of 3 free throws for the Islanders, who now stand at 11-6 overall and 4-1 in the Southland Conference.
Jaden Walker contributed significantly, adding 12 points while achieving a 5 of 8 shooting performance and dishing out seven assists. Garry Clark was also instrumental, scoring 11 points with a shooting record of 4 of 12 from the field and a successful 3 for 4 from the free-throw line. Additionally, Clark secured 15 rebounds during the game, underscoring his all-around performance.
On the other side, Hasan Abdul-Hakim emerged as the standout for the Vaqueros, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds, five assists, and four blocks. Trey Miller supported his team with 16 points and four assists, while Dekedran Thorn added 15 points to the team’s efforts.
Looking ahead, both squads will be back in action on Monday. Texas A&M-CC is scheduled to host Northwestern State, while UT Rio Grande Valley will face East Texas A&M at home.
