EASTON, Pa. — On Saturday, Lafayette secured a convincing victory over Holy Cross with a score of 82-65, thanks in large part to Justin Vander Baan’s impressive performance, scoring 18 points.
In addition to his scoring, Vander Baan contributed six rebounds to the team’s efforts. The Leopards moved to a record of 7-10 overall and 2-2 within the Patriot League. Caleb Williams played an essential role as well, netting 15 points, with a shooting statistic of 6 for 13 from the field, which included 2 for 6 from three-point range. Williams also dished out five assists, rounding out a solid day for the Leopards. Andrew Phillips also shone, making 5 of 8 attempts, including 3 for 5 from beyond the arc, concluding the game with 13 points and six rebounds.
On the other side, the Crusaders (10-7, 2-2 Patriot League) found their top scorer in Joe Nugent, who recorded 18 points. Caleb Kenney added a solid contribution with 14 points and six rebounds, while DeAndre Williams chipped in with 12 points along with six assists, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap against Lafayette.
As the teams prepare for their next match-ups, Lafayette will face Army, while Holy Cross will head to Bucknell, both scheduled for Wednesday.
