BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. — In an exciting matchup on Wednesday evening, Gardner-Webb secured a narrow 89-83 win over Winthrop, with Anthony Selden making a significant contribution by scoring 20 points.

Selden displayed a mix of shooting efficiency, going 6 for 12 from the field, though he struggled with his three-point shots, hitting none of his three attempts. However, he made up for it at the charity stripe, sinking 8 out of 10 free throws. This victory marks an important moment for the Runnin’ Bulldogs, who now hold a record of 7-9 overall and 2-1 in the Big South Conference.

Darryl Simmons II also played a crucial role in the game, adding 17 points to the team’s total. He was particularly effective from beyond the arc, hitting 5 out of 8 attempts.
