BOURNEMOUTH, England – Bournemouth forward Enes Unal has suffered a torn ACL and is anticipated to be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
The Premier League team announced on Wednesday that the 27-year-old forward from Turkey sustained the injury to his right knee during a training session the day prior. Unal faced a similar situation in 2023 when he previously injured his knee.
The club confirmed that he will require surgery “in the coming days.”
“Our thoughts are primarily with Enes as he begins to navigate another significant phase of rehabilitation,” the team expressed in a statement.
Unal initially joined Bournemouth on loan from the Spanish club Getafe nearly a year ago, before making the transfer permanent last summer.
This season, he has netted two goals in 17 appearances for the Cherries, who currently sit in seventh place in the Premier League standings.
