ATLANTA — A man has lost his life following a violent confrontation in Atlanta, which also resulted in minor injuries to a deputy.
Authorities reported that the incident took place on Monday night in the West End area of the city while the Fulton County deputy was working off-duty at a local business.

According to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy responded to urgent calls from two individuals who emerged from the back of a furniture rental store.
Moments later, gunfire erupted between the deputy and a man who was reportedly armed with what looked like an automatic firearm.

Details surrounding the circumstances of the man’s death have not been disclosed by the sheriff’s office. The injured deputy received medical attention for his hand and has since been released from the hospital.
