Slavia Prague has officially acquired forward Vasil Kušej from their Czech league competitor Mlada Boleslav on Tuesday, marking a significant addition to their squad.
The club revealed that Kušej has committed to a contract that runs until December 2028, although the financial specifics of the transfer were not disclosed.
During the current season in the Czech league, Kušej has made a notable impact, recording three goals and eight assists.
Last year, he played a pivotal role in helping Mlada Boleslav secure a spot in European competition for the first time in 17 years, thanks to his contribution of six goals and nine assists.
Additionally, in this season’s third-tier Conference League, he netted four goals and provided three assists during the qualifying rounds.
On the international front, Kušej has represented the Czech Republic in two matches, further showcasing his talent.
However, he will be ineligible to participate in Slavia’s remaining fixtures in the second-tier Europa League scheduled for January. Nevertheless, if Slavia advances to the knockout stages, he could potentially join the squad then.
This transfer news follows closely on the heels of Slavia’s sale of goalkeeper Antonín Kinský to Tottenham, a deal reported to be worth up to 17 million euros, making it a record transaction for a Czech goalkeeper.
