CINCINNATI — In an impressive showing, Ryan Conwell led the Xavier Musketeers to a 94-72 triumph over Seton Hall on Tuesday night.
Conwell contributed significantly to the win, scoring 22 points while shooting 7 of 12 from the field, including three 3-pointers out of seven attempts. He also added five successful free throws out of six attempts for the Musketeers, improving their record to 9-5 overall and 1-2 in the Big East Conference.
Notably, Marcus Foster and Dante Maddox Jr. each scored 14 points, with Foster also grabbing six rebounds to support the team’s efforts.
For Seton Hall, the standout performance came from Isaiah Coleman, who netted 19 points. Scotty Middleton and Chaunce Jenkins followed closely, contributing 12 and 11 points respectively. Jenkins further contributed with four assists and two blocks in a solid all-around performance.
Xavier established their dominance early in the game, seizing the lead with 16:31 left in the first half and maintaining it throughout. At halftime, the score was 44-31, with Conwell accounting for 18 of those points. The Musketeers then surged in the second half, extending their lead to as much as 24 points following an impressive 8-0 run.
This win marks an important step forward for Xavier as they continue their campaign in the Big East, showcasing their potential as a competitive team in the conference.
