JACKSONVILLE, Ala. — In an impressive display on Monday night, Jaron Pierre Jr. led the Jacksonville State Gamecocks to a commanding 111-70 victory over Fort Valley State.
Pierre’s performance was notable, as he scored 29 points and contributed significantly with 10 assists, demonstrating his all-around skill on the court for the Gamecocks, who now hold a record of 8-5 for the season.
Alongside Pierre, Jao Ituka had a strong outing, netting 17 points while shooting 60% from the field (6 of 10), including a solid performance from beyond the arc with 3 of 6 three-point attempts. He also made 2 of 3 attempts from the free-throw line. Additionally, both Marcellus Brigham Jr. and Quel’Ron House chipped in with 11 points each, further boosting the team’s scoring effort.
For Fort Valley State, Jahlen Jack was the standout player, finishing the game with 19 points and making two steals. Jaylen Jackson contributed 15 points, while Antonio Puaauli-Pelham added 12 points to the Wildcats’ total.
Looking ahead, Jacksonville State will continue their season as they set to face Kennesaw State on Saturday in their next contest.
