ATLANTA — In an impressive display of skill, Kara Dunn led the No. 13 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to a commanding 100-61 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers on Sunday, scoring a notable season-high of 28 points. Dunn showcased her scoring ability by successfully converting 10 of her 14 shots and finishing strong at the foul line, hitting 7 of 8 attempts. Additionally, she contributed seven rebounds and provided three assists in the game.

Freshman Dani Carnegie also had a standout performance, achieving her personal best with 24 points. Coming off the bench, Carnegie has been averaging 14.5 points per game and delivered by shooting 9 of 16 overall, which included 4 of 11 from beyond the arc.

Georgia Tech got off to a strong start, making 58% of their shots in the first quarter, which allowed them to establish a 31-18 lead by the end of the period. Dunn was particularly effective, scoring 20 points by halftime, including 13 in the first quarter, while finishing the half with an impressive shooting line of 7 for 10 and a perfect 5 for 5 from the charity stripe. The Yellow Jackets maintained control of the game, leading 53-28 at the break.

In the third quarter, Georgia Tech mounted a 10-0 run, extending their lead to 77-43, during which they limited the Panthers to just four free throws in the final 3.5 minutes of the period. The Yellow Jackets’ dominance continued, culminating in a 42-point advantage when Chazadi Wright nailed a three-pointer with just over four minutes remaining in the contest.

Wright finished the matchup with 16 points, while Tonie Morgan contributed significantly with 15 points and eight assists. For Pittsburgh (8-7, 0-2 ACC), Khadija Faye was the scoring leader with 22 points, followed by Brooklynn Miles and Aislin Malcolm, who added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Georgia Tech has now improved to a perfect record of 14-0 (2-0 ACC) and is aiming for the highest ranking in its program’s history. The Yellow Jackets previously reached No. 11 in the Associated Press poll on February 7, 2022. Georgia Tech will next face Syracuse on Thursday, while Pittsburgh is set to play against No. 14 Duke on January 5.
