LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Lakers will be missing star player LeBron James due to an illness when they take on the Sacramento Kings this Saturday evening. In addition, Anthony Davis’s participation remains uncertain as he is labeled a game-time decision due to a sprained ankle.
This marks the third game James has missed this month, with previous absences due to a sore foot. Lakers head coach JJ Redick indicated that although James is “a little under the weather,” he does not anticipate a long-term absence for him.
Davis will undergo warmups before the game, following an injury he sustained during the first quarter of the Lakers’ narrow 115-113 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. The team previously managed to win four out of five games even with Davis sidelined on Christmas Day, but they have been less successful in the two games they played without James. Throughout his 22nd season in the NBA, James has been averaging 23.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, and nine assists per game.
In light of James’s absence, Gabe Vincent is set to take his place in the starting lineup, as confirmed by Redick.
