INGLEWOOD, Calif. — In an exciting matchup at the West Coast Hoops Showdown on Saturday night, Grand Canyon University triumphed over San Diego with a score of 68-55, driven by the impressive performance of JaKobe Coles, who contributed 18 points to the victory.

Coles also recorded 10 rebounds for the Antelopes (9-4), showcasing a strong presence on both ends of the court. Tyon Grant-Foster was another key player for Grand Canyon, adding 12 points and seven rebounds, while Rayshon Harrison managed to finish with 11 points, despite shooting only 1 of 6 from the field. His free-throw game was on point, as he converted all eight opportunities at the line.

For the Toreros (3-10), Kjay Bradley Jr. led the scoring with 20 points. Santiago Trouet made a significant impact as well, putting up 17 points and securing 14 rebounds. Joey Chammaa chipped in with nine points, but unfortunately, San Diego’s struggles continued, resulting in a sixth consecutive defeat.

Grand Canyon established control early on, taking the lead with 18:49 left in the first half and maintaining it throughout the game. Coles shined particularly in the first half, scoring eight of his total points and helping his team to a 31-26 lead at halftime. The Antelopes further widened their advantage to 42-30 during the second half, highlighted by a 7-0 scoring spree. Coles continued to excel, netting ten points in the final half, thereby helping secure the win for his team.
