Oklahoma State successfully concluded its nonconference schedule with a 86-74 victory against in-state rival Oral Roberts in Stillwater. Abou Ousmane played a crucial role in the win, netting 19 points, with 10 of those coming in the last 10 minutes of the game. Ousmane was perfect from the free-throw line, hitting all nine attempts, while the Cowboys converted 31 of their 39 free throws, balancing out their shooting against the Golden Eagles, who made 12 of 30 attempts from beyond the arc.

Oral Roberts started to close the gap when Luke Gray executed a dunk followed by a three-point play, narrowing the Cowboys’ lead to 48-44 just under 15 minutes from the end. Jackson Skipper later put in a layup, bringing the score to 58-50. However, Ousmane responded with two successful free throws and a jumper that extended Oklahoma State’s lead to 10 points. He capped off his impressive outing with another jumper, pushing the Cowboys’ advantage to 20 points, 73-53, with less than six minutes remaining.

Bryce Thompson contributed significantly with 14 points, while Jamyron Keller and Khalil Brantley each added 10 points. The Cowboys shot 48.1% from the field, connecting on 26 out of 54 shots, including a 3 of 14 from three-point territory.

Leading the way for Oral Roberts was Isaac McBride, who scored 27 points and displayed impressive shooting from distance, hitting 5 of 7 three-pointers. Darius Robinson Jr. chipped in with 10 points, contributing to the team’s overall performance despite the loss.

Looking ahead, the Cowboys will embark on their Big 12 Conference journey, starting on December 30 when they are set to host the No. 15 ranked Houston team.
