HATTIESBURG, Miss. — In an exciting match on Tuesday night, Lamar edged out Southern Miss with a score of 69-65, thanks to a standout performance by Alexis Marmolejos, who tallied 20 points.
Marmolejos had a mixed shooting night, going 6 for 19 overall, which included hitting 3 of 7 attempts from beyond the arc and converting 5 of 6 free throws. The victory improved Lamar’s record to 6-5 this season.
Cody Pennebaker contributed significantly to the win as well, scoring 16 points on 6 of 10 shooting, including 3 of 5 from three-point range. Andrew Holifield rounded out the notable performances by adding 12 points while also grabbing seven rebounds, making three steals, and blocking four shots.
