GRAND FORKS, N.D.
In an impressive performance on Sunday, Tai’Reon Joseph delivered a standout game with 28 points off the bench, guiding the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) to a 95-85 victory against North Dakota.
Joseph’s shooting was remarkable as he connected on 8 of 11 attempts from the field, demonstrating his long-range ability with 6 out of 8 baskets from beyond the arc, and he was also effective at the free-throw line, making 6 of 7 attempts.
Alongside Joseph, UTSA had contributions from Primo Spears, who tallied 16 points with a shooting line of 4 for 12, including 3 for 5 from three-point territory.
Damari Monsanto also played a key role by hitting all of his three-point attempts, going 4 for 4, and finished the game with 15 points after completing 3 of 4 free throws.
On the opposing side, the Fightin’ Hawks saw Treysen Eaglestaff lead their scoring with 24 points, while also dishing out four assists and making two steals.
Dariyus Woodson closely followed, contributing 23 points, and Deng Mayar recorded a double-double with 14 points to go along with 10 rebounds.
The Roadrunners took control of the game early, claiming the lead only two minutes into the first half and never looking back.
By halftime, they held a 39-34 advantage, thanks in part to Monsanto’s nine points in the first period.
In the second half, UTSA expanded their lead following a decisive 9-0 scoring run, pushing the score to 55-42 just over four minutes into the half before ultimately closing out the contest with the victory.
