ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Will Johnson, a cornerback for Michigan, has announced his entry into the NFL draft, joining defensive tackle Mason Graham, who made a similar decision just a day earlier.
Both players, recognized as preseason All-Americans, are anticipated to be selected in the first round of the draft.
This past season, Johnson faced limitations, participating in only six games due to injury. Despite this setback, he managed to record two interceptions, both of which he returned for touchdowns. This achievement helped him set a school record with a total of three scores resulting from interceptions over his career. In his three years with the Wolverines, he accumulated nine interceptions.
Meanwhile, Graham appeared in every game this season, showcasing his skills with 3.5 sacks and seven tackles for a loss. During his entire tenure at Michigan, he racked up an impressive 18 tackles for a loss, including nine sacks over three seasons.
As the Wolverines prepare for their upcoming game against No. 11 Alabama on December 31 in the ReliaQuest Bowl, both players’ decisions mark a significant shift for the team’s future, following a season that concluded with a 7-5 record.
