WEST POINT, N.Y. — On Sunday, Cornell showcased a strong performance in a basketball game, defeating Army with a final score of 103-84. Nazir Williams was the standout player for the Big Red, contributing significantly with 20 points. He had an impressive shooting percentage, making 7 out of 9 attempts, including 4 of 5 from three-point range. Cooper Noard also had a notable game, scoring 17 points, hitting 6 of 8 shots and 5 of 6 from beyond the arc. Jake Fiegen added to the team’s success with 16 points, shooting 6 for 10 overall, and 3 for 6 from three-point territory.

The Black Knights, now with a record of 5-4, were led by Jalen Rucker, who scored 17 points and secured two steals. Josh Scovens matched his efforts, also contributing 17 points for Army. Ryan Curry played a well-rounded game, finishing with 13 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

Cornell seized the lead early in the first half, taking control with 14:22 left and never looking back. Noard’s scoring effort helped put Cornell ahead significantly, as he netted 14 points in the first half alone to lead his team to a 49-32 advantage at halftime. In the second half, Cornell widened their lead with a 9-0 run, turning a 21-point lead into a dominating 30-point margin. Williams excelled in the latter half, scoring 16 points to help Cornell outscore Army by two points after the break.

Looking ahead, Cornell is set to face Cal on the road this Tuesday, while Army will travel to George Washington on Friday for their next matchup.
