AKRON, Ohio — Bowen Hardman showcased an impressive performance, scoring 20 points as the Akron Zips dominated the SUNY-Brockport Golden Eagles with a decisive 101-48 win on Saturday.
In this game, Hardman displayed his shooting skills, making 8 of 14 attempts from the floor, including 4 of 10 from beyond the arc. The Zips, improving their record to 6-2, saw notable contributions from James Okonkwo, who not only scored 12 points but also secured 16 rebounds, demonstrating his prowess in the paint. Nate Johnson added another 12 points, completing 5 of 8 shots, including 2 of 4 from three-point range, while also grabbing six rebounds.
The scoring for the Golden Eagles was headed by Tony Arnold, who managed to score 11 points and pull down eight rebounds. Jacob Oka contributed six points, and Christian Amica added five to the total for SUNY-Brockport.
Akron took control early in the first half, establishing a lead just 18 minutes into the game, which they maintained decisively throughout the contest. By halftime, the score reflected their dominance at 56-24, with Hardman already having put together an impressive 12-point first half. The Zips continued their offensive onslaught in the second half, outscoring the Golden Eagles by 21 points. Evan Wilson also made his mark, leading the team in the second half with eight points.
