In a Saturday matchup, Brayden O’Connor’s impressive performance of 17 points propelled George Mason to a victory over Tulane, with a final score of 76-64.
O’Connor demonstrated shooting accuracy, making 7 of 10 attempts from the field for the Patriots, who now hold a record of 7-3. Darius Maddox contributed equally important numbers, scoring 17 points as well, which included 4 of 11 shooting from the floor and a stellar 3 for 6 from beyond the arc, along with making all 6 of his free throws. Another key player, Jalen Haynes, managed to score 15 points, successfully sinking 7 of 9 free-throw attempts while hitting 4 of 11 shots overall.
For the Green Wave, Rowan Brumbaugh was the leading scorer, finishing with 12 points and four assists. Teammate Gregg Glenn III had a noteworthy performance with a double-double, contributing 11 points and securing 11 rebounds. Mari Jordan also added his name to the score sheet with 11 points of his own.
George Mason established an early lead with 14:04 remaining in the first half and maintained control throughout the game. O’Connor’s 15 points in the opening stanza ensured a commanding 45-27 halftime advantage for the Patriots. Although they were outscored by Tulane in the second half by six points, George Mason still managed to secure the win, thanks in large part to Haynes, who was the team’s leading scorer in the second half with 10 points.
