STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — In a showdown on Wednesday night, Wagner secured a solid 65-52 win against Coppin State, with Ja’Kair Sanchez delivering an impressive performance, scoring 22 points for the Seahawks (4-4).
Sanchez not only showcased his scoring ability but also contributed on the boards, grabbing five rebounds throughout the game. R.J. Greene supported his team with 14 points, finishing 2 of 6 from the field and hitting 10 of 14 from the free-throw line, also pulling down five rebounds. Javier Esquerra Trelles contributed with nine points, going 4 for 11 in shooting, including a tough 1 for 5 from three-point range.
On the other side, the Eagles (0-10) struggled to find momentum, with Julius Ellerbe leading their offense with 11 points. Jonathan Dunn also made a contribution, adding 10 points to the team’s totals, although their efforts were not enough to secure a victory.
