CULLOWHEE, N.C. — Cord Stansberry played a pivotal role in Western Carolina’s victory over Bellarmine, contributing 24 points in an 86-74 triumph on Wednesday evening.

Stansberry also secured six rebounds, helping the Catamounts improve their record to 3-4. Chevalier Emery supported the team with a solid performance, scoring 17 points while making 6 of 16 shots, which included 3 three-pointers, and successfully converting 2 of 3 free-throw attempts. CJ Hyland added to the scoring effort with 12 points, shooting efficiently at 5 for 8, with 2 of those coming from long range.

On the other side, the Knights struggled despite individual efforts; Ben Johnson led his team with 22 points, alongside seven rebounds and two steals. Dylan Branson contributed with 18 points, collected six rebounds, and distributed four assists. Billy Smith also made his mark on the scoreboard with 11 points.
