COLUMBIA, Mo. — During Saturday’s game against No. 24 Missouri, Arkansas defensive end Landon Jackson suffered a neck injury and was taken off the field in a cart to be transported to a hospital.

The injury occurred as Jackson attempted to bring down Missouri’s running back, Jamal Roberts. Medical staff attended to him for roughly ten minutes, during which he was placed on a backboard before being taken to the ambulance. Despite the seriousness of the situation, Jackson managed to signal a thumbs-up as he was being wheeled off the snow-covered field.

Arkansas’s athletic director Hunter Yurachek provided updates on Jackson’s condition, stating that he retained movement in both his arms and legs but was feeling neck pain. He emphasized that the hospitalization was a precautionary measure to ensure Jackson’s safety.

On the field, Jackson has been a key player for the Razorbacks, demonstrating impressive performance with 9.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. His standout abilities have made him a notable candidate for a first-round selection in the upcoming NFL draft.

The situation with Jackson highlights the intense physicality of college football and the essential role of medical teams in player safety. His recovery will be closely monitored by fans and the Arkansas program alike as they await further updates.
