ATHENS, Ohio — In a decisive performance, Parker Navarro was instrumental in Ohio’s victory over Ball State, contributing to a total of five touchdowns as the Bobcats triumphed 42-21. This impressive win secured Ohio a share of the Mid-American Conference regular-season crown.

With this latest success, Ohio has now emerged victorious in seven of their last eight games, finishing the season with a 9-3 overall record and a 7-1 mark in the conference. They conclude the season tied at the top of the standings alongside Miami (Ohio), who also performed well, defeating Bowling Green 28-12 on the same day.

Both Ohio and Miami (who ended their season 8-4, 7-1) are set to clash in the conference championship game scheduled for December 7 in Detroit. Earlier in the season, Miami had bested the Bobcats with a score of 30-20.

Navarro showcased his skills by completing 7 of 11 passes for a total of 169 yards, which included two lengthy touchdown passes of 41 and 50 yards to Coleman Owen during the first quarter. He also connected with Mason Williams for a 15-yard touchdown, extending Ohio’s lead to 28-7 early in the third quarter. In addition to his aerial success, Navarro rushed for 110 yards, scoring on runs of 20 and 4 yards. Anthony Tyus III supported the ground game with a commendable performance, amassing 109 yards on 13 carries.

On the other side, Kadin Semonza played a commendable game for Ball State, going 29-for-47 in passing with 333 yards and producing three touchdown passes. However, Ball State (3-9, 2-6) is now experiencing a tough stretch, having lost four consecutive games. Notably, Cam Pickett was a highlight for the Cardinals, gathering nine receptions for a total of 119 yards, while Tanner Koziol, Dahya Patel, and Jamarion McDougle all contributed with touchdown receptions.
