STAMFORD, Conn. — NBC Sports and Peacock are set to introduce a unique viewing experience featuring elements from the EA Sports Madden 25 video game during the upcoming game between the Houston Texans and the Kansas City Chiefs on December 21.

This innovative Madden NFL Cast was revealed during halftime of the recent match between the Miami Dolphins and the Green Bay Packers.

This marks the first instance where NBC has aired an alternate version of an NFL game. In previous seasons, CBS has showcased at least one game on Nickelodeon, while ESPN/ABC has been known for their “ManningCast,” as well as animated games featuring characters from “The Simpsons” and “Toy Story.”

The Texans vs. Chiefs game on Peacock will creatively merge video game aesthetics—including Madden 25 graphics, route trees, player cards, and player ratings—with real-time football action. The broadcast will also leverage GeniusIQ to deliver instantaneous data through the league’s Next Gen Stats.

Paul Burmeister will take on the role of play-by-play announcer, supported by Madden NFL expert Kurt Benkert and six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, who will provide analysis. Ochocinco’s role includes adjusting player ratings in real time during the game. Additionally, Henry Leverette, the winner of the Ultimate Madden Bowl championship in February, will contribute to the broadcast.

Fred Gaudelli, NBC Sports’ Executive Producer of NFL, expressed enthusiasm about the matchup: “Both the Texans and the Chiefs are leading their divisions, featuring star athletes from various positions. Their digital avatars will enhance our breakdown of the game’s pivotal moments through the lens of Madden NFL 25. It is a great source of pride for John and the Madden family that their game continues to engage and educate fans about football across generations, and we are excited to further this legacy.”

The primary coverage of the Texans-Chiefs game will air on NBC starting at 1 p.m. EST on December 21.
