RENO, Nev. — In a thrilling showdown on Saturday night, Owen Allen rushed for 107 yards and secured a touchdown on 23 attempts, while Dylan Carson sparked the game with an 11-yard touchdown run and concluded the night with 105 rushing yards, aiding Air Force in their victory over Nevada with a final score of 22-19.

With this win, Air Force improved their record to 4-7 overall and 2-4 in the Mountain West Conference, marking their third consecutive victory following a challenging seven-game losing streak.

Quarterback Quentin Hayes contributed significantly as well, adding 68 rushing yards, including a crucial 1-yard touchdown that extended Air Force’s lead to 22-12 with just 1:11 remaining in the game. Allen’s earlier 9-yard touchdown came after an extensive drive, chewing up 7 minutes and 37 seconds while covering 74 yards in 14 plays, putting the Falcons ahead 15-12 with 8:29 to play. Notably, Osaro Aihie made a pivotal interception shortly thereafter, returning it 39 yards to the Air Force 25, which set up Hayes’ touchdown run.

In the second quarter, Kian Afrookhteh successfully converted field goals of 27 and 26 yards, while Brendon Lewis from Nevada connected with Jaden Smith for a 23-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, propelling Nevada into a brief lead of 12-7 after a failed two-point conversion. However, the Wolf Pack, now 3-9 overall and 0-6 in conference play, has suffered through five consecutive defeats and has lost six of their last seven outings.

Cortez Braham Jr. caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Lewis to add a final score for the Wolf Pack with just 4 seconds to spare. Braham ended the game with seven receptions totaling 123 yards. Lewis completed 22 of 35 passes for 268 yards, but did throw one interception, and he rushed for an additional 53 yards on 13 attempts.
