MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — On Saturday, Zach Tanner delivered an impressive performance for Robert Morris, as he threw two touchdown passes to Shawn Charles, leading his team to a decisive 31-13 victory over Stonehill.
Tanner and Charles connected early in the game, with their first touchdown being an impressive 86-yard play on just the second snap for the Colonials, who concluded their season with a record of 7-5 and secured a 4-2 standing in the Northeast Conference. The duo struck again for a 51-yard touchdown that put Robert Morris ahead 21-0 by the end of the first quarter.
In total, Tanner completed 13 of 20 passes for 268 yards, though he did toss two interceptions during the game. Charles enjoyed a standout performance, grabbing four receptions for a total of 149 yards.
The Colonials continued their offensive momentum as DJ Moyer capped a 69-yard drive with a short 1-yard touchdown run. Meanwhile, for Stonehill, Danny Hurley successfully kicked two field goals, which helped narrow the gap to eight points at one stage of the contest.
However, Robert Morris sealed their victory with a field goal and a recovery of a fumble by Turner Schmidt that led to another score. This final flourish ensured the Colonials finished their season on a high note.
