HANOVER, N.H. — In an electrifying matchup on Saturday, Jackson Proctor led Dartmouth to a decisive 56-28 victory over Brown, securing a shared Ivy League championship for the second consecutive year. The standout quarterback showcased his versatility by throwing four touchdown passes and adding three rushing touchdowns, highlighted by a remarkable 75-yard run in the third quarter.
As the day began, Harvard was in the lead for the title but suffered a narrow defeat against Yale, losing 34-29. This turn of events allowed for a three-way tie at the top, with Columbia also celebrating a victory over Cornell (17-9). Now, Dartmouth holds a record of 8-2 and 5-2 in the Ivy League, marking their 22nd league title overall and their fourth in the last five years. Harvard earned its 19th title, while Columbia claimed a share of the championship for just the second time in its history.
Dartmouth wasted no time taking the lead, as Proctor connected with Grayson O’Bara on a 13-yard touchdown pass during the opening drive of the game. He continued to find success, launching a 35-yard pass to Painter Richards-Baker to put Dartmouth ahead as the second quarter began. Brown responded with a couple of short rushing touchdowns, leveling the score at 14-14 just before halftime. However, Proctor quickly orchestrated a 75-yard drive, culminating in a 20-yard touchdown pass to Chris Corbo, giving Dartmouth a 21-14 lead at the break.
The action continued in the second half with Proctor linking up with O’Bara again for a stunning 75-yard touchdown just seconds into the third quarter. Within minutes, Jordan Washington made a game-changing play by intercepting a Brown pass and returning it 57 yards for a touchdown, extending the lead to 35-14. Proctor capped off his scoring day with yet another 75-yard run into the end zone, bringing the score to 42-21.
In total, Proctor completed 18 of 26 passes for an impressive 308 yards while also rushing 13 times for 171 yards, totaling an extraordinary 479 yards of offense. O’Bara was a key target, catching four passes for 124 yards and scoring two touchdowns. On the opposing side, Brown’s James Murphy finished with 25 completions on 36 attempts for 256 yards, contributing two touchdowns but also throwing an interception.
