In a decisive finish to their regular season, Jayden Clerveaux led the way for Holy Cross with an impressive performance, rushing for 135 yards and scoring two touchdowns as the Crusaders triumphed over Georgetown with a score of 34-0 on Saturday.

This victory marked the Crusaders’ sixth consecutive Patriot League title, finishing the season with an overall record of 6-6 and a league record of 5-1. However, despite this achievement, Lehigh secured the automatic bid to the FCS playoffs by defeating Holy Cross earlier in the season with a narrow margin of 10-7.

Holy Cross quickly established dominance in the game, taking a commanding 17-0 lead. The scoring began with a field goal from Daniel Porto, followed by Joe Townsend’s remarkable 15-yard touchdown off a blocked punt by Lathan Croley. Clerveaux then contributed his first touchdown with an 18-yard run. In the third quarter, Clerveaux added another score with a 3-yard rush, extending the lead to 27-0. The final touchdown for the Crusaders came courtesy of a 12-yard pass from Joe Pesansky to Byron Shipman, following an interception by Cam Jones at Georgetown’s 20-yard line.

On the other side, Georgetown struggled offensively, accumulating just 184 yards despite managing to intercept three passes. This shutout marked a significant moment for Holy Cross, as it was their first since they blanked Bucknell in the previous year.
