LAFAYETTE, La. — On Tuesday night, Rice University demonstrated their basketball prowess by defeating Louisiana with an impressive score of 83-61, thanks in part to Denver Anglin’s standout performance off the bench.
Anglin contributed significantly to the Owls’ success by scoring 20 points with an efficient shooting performance, going 6 of 10 from the field, which included an impressive 5 of 8 accuracy from beyond the arc. He also fully capitalized at the free-throw line, making all three attempts. Rice’s offensive output saw Caden Powell scoring 17 points, where he excelled with a remarkable 7 of 8 shooting, alongside three free throws out of six attempts. Powell also made his mark on the boards with nine rebounds and recorded three blocks. Trae Broadnax added to the scoreboard with 14 points, having shot 4 of 7 from the field and making 5 of 6 free throws.
For the Ragin’ Cajuns, who now hold a record of 1-3, Michael Thomas was the top performer, netting 17 points. Christian Wright supported the team with another 13 points, while Kyran Ratliff contributed nine points and led the team with three steals.
