ST. LOUIS — In an exciting matchup on Saturday night, Gibson Jimerson and Isaiah Swope each netted 23 points, propelling Saint Louis to a 77-71 victory over Loyola Marymount.
Jimerson’s impressive performance did not stop at scoring; he also grabbed seven rebounds, contributing significantly to the Billikens’ success as they improved their record to 2-1. Swope showcased his shooting skills by sinking 3 of 8 attempts from beyond the arc. Kellen Thames stood out as well, adding 12 points while shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from the field.
On the other hand, the Lions, who now hold a record of 1-2, were led by Will Johnston, who scored an impressive 27 points. Alex Merkviladze provided solid support with 13 points and also secured 12 rebounds, while Myron Amey Jr. contributed 11 points and made a couple of key steals.
