MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — KyeRon Lindsay made a significant impact off the bench, contributing 27 points to help propel Murray State to an impressive 88-67 victory over Middle Tennessee on Saturday night.
Lindsay also recorded eight rebounds and five blocks during the game for the Racers (2-1). AJ Ferguson was another standout for Murray State, scoring 16 points with remarkable shooting efficiency, hitting 4 of 5 attempts from the field, including a perfect 4 for 4 from beyond the arc, as well as going 4 for 4 from the free-throw line. Jacobi Wood joined the scoring efforts with 15 points, successfully converting 5 of 9 field-goal attempts, which included 1 for 3 from three-point range, and also made all four of his free throws.
For the Blue Raiders (3-1), Kamari Lands was the top scorer, finishing the game with 19 points. Jlynn Counter contributed another 15 points, rounding out the scoring for Middle Tennessee.
At halftime, the score stood at 44-30, with Lindsay already having made his mark by scoring 16 points in the first half. Murray State surged early in the second half, extending their lead to 55-35, largely thanks to an 11-0 scoring streak. Wood emerged as a key player in the second half, leading his team with 13 points.
Overall, the game showcased strong performances from the Racers, highlighting their depth, especially with Lindsay’s explosive scoring off the bench. The victory adds momentum to Murray State’s season as they look to build on this success moving forward.
