RIVERSIDE, Calif.
– In an exciting matchup on Friday evening, California Baptist triumphed over Long Island University with a score of 90-77, largely thanks to the impressive performance of Dominique Daniels Jr., who netted 27 points.
Daniels had a challenging night shooting, going 9 for 25 overall, but he managed to convert 5 of his 14 attempts from three-point range and went a perfect 4 for 4 from the free-throw line, contributing significantly to his team’s victory as they improved their record to 3-1.
Martel Williams also made a notable impact, scoring 23 points with an efficient shooting performance, hitting 9 of 12 shots, including 3 for 6 from downtown. Meanwhile, Javonte Johnson added to the Lancers’ offensive efforts with 16 points, going 6 for 9 from the field and showcasing his shooting ability by sinking 4 of 7 three-pointers, along with grabbing seven rebounds.
On the opposing side, Malachi Davis was a standout player for the Sharks, leading his team with 24 points. Tre’shawn Sheppard and Blake Lander each chipped in with 12 points, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide in their favor.
The game showcased strong performances on both sides, but California Baptist’s balanced scoring and effective shooting ultimately secured their victory.
