MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – JJ Quinerly contributed 17 points and Jordan Harrison added another 14 as No. 15 West Virginia secured a convincing 82-54 victory over Pittsburgh on Tuesday evening.

West Virginia improved to 3-0 on the season and has now achieved seven consecutive victories against Pittsburgh, whose record now stands at 2-1.
Despite struggling with his shooting, Quinerly managed to net 11 points in the first half, making only 4 of his 16 attempts, with a disappointing 0 for 7 from beyond the arc. At halftime, the Mountaineers found themselves ahead 35-25, having shot just 38% from the field and only converting 2 of 14 three-point attempts.
In the third quarter, Quinerly played a pivotal role, completing a 7-0 scoring run that extended West Virginia’s lead into double digits for the remainder of the game. The fourth quarter saw West Virginia widen the gap further, as they initiated the period with a 14-2 run, aided by six points from Sydney Shaw, which propelled them to their first 20-point lead.
Shaw concluded the game with 14 points. This performance came just after West Virginia celebrated one of its highest-scoring victories in program history, defeating Niagara 110-41 the previous week.
For Pittsburgh, Khadija Faye recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Lauren Rust contributed 12 points.
West Virginia’s next matchup is scheduled against Texas A&M on Friday.
