NEW ORLEANS — On Monday night, Tulane University showcased their dominant performance against Alcorn State, claiming a convincing 84-51 victory, with Kaleb Banks standing out by scoring 25 points.
Banks complemented his scoring with an impressive seven rebounds, contributing significantly to the Green Wave’s success as they improved to a record of 3-0. Kam Williams also had a notable game, putting up 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including a commendable 3-for-8 from beyond the three-point line. The team’s overall defense was highlighted by three steals and three blocks, indicating a strong performance on both ends of the court. Additionally, Rowan Brumbaugh offered support with nine points, connecting on three of his seven attempts from deep and also dishing out seven assists.
On the side of the Braves, who fell to 0-4, it was Daniel Braster who led the effort with 15 points, supplemented by six rebounds and two blocks. Omari Hamilton contributed 13 points, while Djahi Binet chipped in with seven points and recorded two blocks in their losing effort.
Tulane established dominance early in the game, taking the lead just 18 seconds into the first half and holding onto it throughout. Banks was particularly effective in the first half, scoring 15 points and helping the team secure a substantial 41-15 lead at halftime. In the second half, Tulane continued to build on their advantage with a 10-0 run, which significantly increased their lead to 32 points at one stage. They ended the second half by outscoring Alcorn State by a margin of seven points, with Banks again leading the charge with 10 points after the break.
