INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The Miami Dolphins have officially placed starting right tackle Austin Jackson on injured reserve due to a knee injury sustained during the game against Buffalo last weekend. In a corresponding move, the team activated wide receiver River Cracraft.
Jackson’s injury will sideline him for a minimum of four games, with Coach Mike McDaniel suggesting that while the injury is not likely to end his season, surgery remains a potential option. Throughout this season, Jackson has been a crucial part of the offensive line, starting in all eight games at the right tackle position.
In Jackson’s absence, veteran offensive lineman Kendall Lamm is anticipated to take over the starting role when the Dolphins (2-6) square off against the Los Angeles Rams (4-4) on Monday night.
Cracraft is set to make his debut for the season after being sidelined with a shoulder injury that he suffered during the preseason, which led to his placement on injured reserve. Although the Dolphins had previously designated him to return to practice prior to their matchup with Buffalo, McDaniel opted to ease him back into action gradually rather than rushing him into gameplay.
With Tyreek Hill currently contending with a wrist issue, Cracraft’s return is expected to be a significant asset to the Dolphins’ receiving corps.
Additionally, Miami has fortified its roster by signing defensive tackle Neil Farrell to the active lineup, while also promoting long snapper Tucker Addington and tackle Jackson Carman for the upcoming Monday night game.
