MONROE TOWNSHIP, Michigan — A sheriff’s deputy in Michigan performed a heroic act by rescuing a woman from railroad tracks just in time, according to officials.
The incident took place on a Tuesday in Monroe County, located approximately 40 miles south of Detroit. Law enforcement received a call regarding a 67-year-old woman who had purposefully placed herself on the tracks.
Upon arriving at the scene, Deputy Alec Preadmore discovered the railroad crossing gates closing as a southbound train swiftly approached the woman. The sheriff’s office reported that Deputy Preadmore acted quickly, racing to the tracks to pull her to safety just moments before the train passed through.
Following the dramatic rescue, the woman was transported to a hospital for further evaluation and care.
This incident highlights the quick thinking and bravery of law enforcement officers who often face life-threatening situations while serving their communities.
