On Wednesday, Democratic Representative Sydney Kamlager-Dove secured her reelection to the U.S. House in California.
She triumphed over her opponent, Juan Rey, a train mechanic affiliated with L.A. Metro, who campaigned without a party label.
Kamlager-Dove made her Congressional debut in 2022, stepping into the position previously held by Karen Bass, who went on to become the mayor of Los Angeles.
The congressional district she represents is characterized by its rich diversity, encompassing areas located to the west and southwest of downtown Los Angeles.
The news of her victory was announced at 12:06 a.m. EST.
