He emerged successful against Republican contender Peter J. Bono, a retired Navy technician, in the heavily Democratic 50th District of San Diego County.
Serving since 2013, Peters is an active member of the House Energy and Commerce and Budget committees.
He recently supported legislation aimed at enhancing domestic microchip production, which was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Joe Biden in October.
A lawyer by profession, Peters has prioritized various issues throughout his tenure, such as addressing cross-border sewage troubles, enhancing military affairs, and strengthening the economy.
