Democrat John Olszewski has emerged victorious in the election for a U.S. House seat in Maryland on Tuesday.
He secured his win against Republican Kim Klacik for a position that became available following the retirement of Democratic Representative C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger.
Olszewski previously held the role of county executive in Baltimore County, located in the suburbs of Maryland’s largest city, Baltimore.
In addition, he has experience as a state legislator, having served in the Maryland House of Delegates.
He will now represent the 2nd Congressional District of Maryland, which encompasses a significant portion of Baltimore County, parts of Carroll County, and a segment of Baltimore City.
The announcement of Olszewski’s win was made at 10:16 p.m. EST.
