Democratic Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi has secured reelection for a U.S. House seat representing Illinois as announced on Tuesday.
Krishnamoorthi, who began his congressional career in 2016, serves as the leading Democratic member of the House Select Committee focused on issues pertaining to the Chinese Communist Party.
With a law degree from Harvard University, he previously held various roles within the state government, including that of deputy state treasurer.
His congressional district encompasses a portion of Chicago’s northwest side, alongside several suburbs in the west and northwest regions.
The announcement of Krishnamoorthi’s victory was made at 9:35 p.m. EST.
