San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan is set to undergo surgery following a fractured left thumb sustained during a recent game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The injury occurred when Sochan collided with a screen near the Clippers’ bench late in the second quarter. He had to leave the game with 3:31 left in the first half and did not return.
The organization has announced that they will provide an update regarding his condition after the surgery is performed.
In the game, the Spurs initially held a commanding 26-point lead in the first quarter while Sochan was on the floor, but the Clippers mounted a comeback in the second half, securing their first win at their new venue, the Intuit Dome.
Sochan, who is in his third year in the league after playing at Baylor, is currently experiencing a career-best season, averaging 15.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
